Why is Christ's sacrifice considered better than the Old Testament sacrifices?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's sacrifice is superior because it was a one-time offering that perfectly atoned for sin, fulfilling all Old Testament sacrifices.

In Hebrews, it is asserted that the sacrificial system established under the Old Covenant was never truly sufficient for the complete atonement of sins. These sacrifices functioned as shadows pointing toward the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Unlike the repetitive animal sacrifices that could not take away sin, Christ offered Himself once for all, serving as the perfect and final sin offering. This one-time act of self-sacrifice fulfills the law and establishes a new covenant, securing eternal redemption for believers. This is what makes it a better sacrifice than anything offered under the Old Covenant.
