Why is Christ's sacrifice important for our salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's sacrifice is essential because He satisfied God's justice and secured our redemption.

The importance of Christ's sacrifice lies in His role as the ultimate mediator between God and man. Through His death, Christ satisfied divine justice, accomplishing what the law demanded for our sins. As the 'last Adam', He brought in everlasting righteousness and made reconciliation for iniquity, which means that through His sacrifice, we have access to God. As stated in Romans 5:8, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us, illustrating that His work was not contingent upon our merit but rather grace.
