Why is Christ's sacrifice more effective than animal sacrifices?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's sacrifice is more effective as it provides complete atonement and purges our conscience, while animal sacrifices could only temporarily cover sin.

The effectiveness of Christ's sacrifice over animal sacrifices is explained in Hebrews 9:13-14, where it contrasts the temporary cleansing provided by the blood of bulls and goats with the eternal redemption obtained through Christ's own blood. Animal sacrifices could not perfect the conscience of the worshipper but merely served as a shadow of what was to come. In contrast, Christ’s offering, through the eternal Spirit and without spot, purges our conscience from dead works to serve the living God (Hebrews 9:14). His sacrifice provides a complete and lasting redemption, fulfilling the law's requirements decisively and permanently.
