Why is community important for receiving God's comfort?

Answered in 1 source

Community is vital because God often comforts us through the church and the fellowship of believers.

The church serves as the primary means through which God conveys His comfort to His children. In Isaiah 66:13, the phrase 'you shall be comforted in Jerusalem' underscores the importance of being part of the body of Christ. Engaging in communal worship, partaking in the sacraments, and partaking in the preaching of the gospel are avenues through which we experience the comfort of God. Isolation can lead to despair, while togetherness in faith nurtures encouragement and strength, allowing us to support one another in times of distress. Additionally, the care and prayers of fellow believers serve to divine comfort in our lives, reminding us of God’s presence and faithfulness.
