Why is community in the church essential for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Community in the church is essential as it provides support, guidance, and the opportunity to practice love and unity among believers.

The local church exists as a manifestation of Christ's body where individual believers work out their spiritual lives collectively. Acts 15 illustrates the importance of seeking counsel and support from other believers when faced with difficult issues. Community allows for shared accountability and encouragement in living out the Christian faith. As the apostle Paul writes in Philippians 2, 'It is God which worketh in you, both to will and to do of His good pleasure.' This is experienced among the body of believers as we support one another and point each other to Christ.
