Why is confidence important for Christians in their relationship with God?

Answered in 1 source

Confidence is vital for Christians as it enables us to approach God boldly, assured of His grace and mercy (Hebrews 4:14-16).

Confidence in our relationship with God allows Christians to draw near to Him in times of need. Hebrews 4:14-16 encourages believers to 'come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.' This assurance is rooted in our understanding of Christ as our High Priest who empathizes with us. With confidence, we can rest in the knowledge that we will be received by God, which fosters a deep sense of peace and reliance on His provision in our lives. This confidence is a result of the faith that Christ instills within us.
