Why is conflict important in the Christian life?

Answered in 1 source

Conflict reveals the authenticity of one's faith and commitment to the gospel.

The absence of conflict in a believer's life may indicate a compromise in their faith or a failure to uphold the gospel's truth. John the Baptist’s life exemplifies how faithfulness to God’s message often leads to conflict, as seen in his confrontation with Herod over his sin. The scripture teaches us that the world will hate us for our allegiance to Christ (John 15:18). True faith is often tested in the crucible of conflict, demonstrating that we are indeed strangers and pilgrims in this world, actively seeking the kingdom of God, as reflected in Hebrews 11:13-16.
