Why is controlled grief important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Controlled grief helps Christians respond to loss with hope and submission.

Though mourning is natural, uncontrolled grief can lead to despair. Christians are encouraged to grieve in a manner that remains obedient to God, filled with submission and hope. Instead of expressing grief like those without hope, Christians ought to see their sorrow as an opportunity for deeper trust in God's plans. This involves a composed sorrow that acknowledges God's goodness amidst loss and prepares the heart for His will and future mercies. Controlled grief thus becomes a means of sanctification and growth.
