Why is deliverance from the law important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Deliverance from the law is crucial as it liberates believers from the curse of trying to achieve righteousness through works.

The law, while being good and holy, cannot save or assist the unregenerate man. It serves only to reveal our inability to keep its demands perfectly, making it a burden rather than a guide. Galatians 4:21-31 stresses that those under the law are under a curse, as the law requires absolute obedience. In Christ, however, believers find that He has fulfilled the law on their behalf, granting them freedom from its condemnation and the assurance of righteousness through faith. This is central to the Christian experience, for it emphasizes grace over works in the believer's relationship with God.
