Why is devotion to God important?

Answered in 1 source

Devotion to God is crucial as it reflects our love for Him and leads us to fulfill His will, while neglect can lead to spiritual emptiness.

Devotion to God is of utmost importance in the life of a believer, as it signifies our response to His immense love and grace. Haggai's messages to the Israelites emphasize the need for them to prioritize their relationship with God over their earthly concerns. When they neglected the rebuilding of the temple, they did so out of indifference, which brought barrenness and misfortune upon them. By contrast, when believers actively seek to obey and honor God, they engage in meaningful communion with Him, leading to spiritual fulfillment and growth. Thus, devotion is not only an act of obedience but a necessary expression of our faith that ultimately brings glory to God.
