Why is diligence important in the Christian life?

Answered in 1 source

Diligence is vital as it leads to spiritual growth and the effective use of God's gifts (Proverbs 13:4).

Diligence in the Christian life is emphasized in Mark 4:25, where it states that 'to him who has, more will be given.' This indicates that the degree of one’s grace and knowledge is proportionate to one's diligence in pursuing them. The diligent efforts in engaging with Scripture, in prayer, and attending church result in spiritual riches. Conversely, laziness is condemned, as it leads to spiritual famine. Christians are encouraged to actively seek out spiritual growth by using their time wisely, being faithful in their practices, and effectively using the means of grace available to them.
