Why is encouragement important in the Christian faith?

Answered in 1 source

Encouragement helps believers stay faithful and focused on living for Christ amidst trials and challenges.

Encouragement plays a vital role in the life of Christians, as seen when Barnabas was sent to Antioch to strengthen the believers. In Acts 11:22-23, Barnabas arrived and 'saw the grace of God,' which filled him with joy and led him to exhort the believers to 'cleave unto the Lord.' This illustrates that in the midst of adversity and discouragement, receiving encouragement from fellow believers helps sustain faith and commitment. We are called to support one another, to remind each other of God's promises, and to spur each other on in our walk with Christ, as community is integral to spiritual growth.
