Why is experiencing Christ important for Christians?

Answered in 2 sources

Experiencing Christ is essential for Christians as it is through this personal encounter that we come to understand the Gospel.

In the sermon, it is emphasized that while the Gospel has objective truth, it only becomes good news when we experience Christ's grace in our lives. Paul describes that many of Christ's appearances were moments when individuals experienced Him personally, and that was transformative. This experience is foundational for faith; it allows believers to understand their need for grace in light of their sin and to see Christ as their Savior. Jesus does not only want to be known as a historical figure, but as the living Lord who personally interacts with us, bringing us hope and assurance in the Gospel.
