Why is faith considered precious?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is precious because it is a gift from God and is the means by which we trust in Christ for salvation.

Faith, as described in 2 Peter 1:1, is given to believers is of equal value, stressing that it is not the quantity of faith that saves, but the object of faith, which is Christ himself. This like precious faith connects believers to the righteousness of God. It is vital for salvation, as shown in Luke 7:50, where Jesus states, 'Thy faith hath saved thee.' This faith pleases God and assures us of His sufficiency, ultimately underscoring the grace of God in imparting such faith to His elect.
