Why is faith important during times of fear?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is crucial because it allows us to overcome fear and find rest in God's presence.

Faith plays a fundamental role in combating fear, as it reminds us of God's promises and character. In moments of turmoil, such as Elijah's flight from Jezebel, the absence of faith leads to irrational actions and deep distress. Faith reassures us that God is in control, and it is this reliance upon Him that calms our anxious hearts. As Christ admonished His disciples for their fear, saying, 'Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?' (Matthew 8:26), we learn that a strong faith helps us to still our fears and trust in God's sovereign plan. Thus, nurturing our faith is essential for spiritual health, especially in challenging times.
