Why is faith important for coming to Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is essential for coming to Christ because it is the means by which we trust in His grace and work of salvation.

Ephesians 2:8-9 states that 'by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.' Faith is not something we possess inherently; rather, it is a gift from God given to those whom He has called out of darkness. Coming to Christ requires that we approach Him by faith, recognizing our helplessness and accepting His redemptive work. Genuine faith is crucial as it reflects the new heart that God has provided, enabling us to trust in Him completely.
