Why is faith important in our relationship with God?

Answered in 2 sources

Faith is essential because it allows us to trust in God's provision and character, opening our mouths wide to receive His goodness.

Faith acts as the gateway through which we receive God’s blessings. In Psalm 81:10, God challenges His people to open their mouths wide so He may fill them. This childlike faith mirrors a baby bird waiting for its mother to provide nourishment, emphasizing our need to trust God to meet our spiritual needs. By exhibiting faith, we entrust our requests to God and believe He will supply all we need for growth and sustenance. Without such faith, we fall into self-reliance, which never produces the spiritual fruit we desire.
