Why is faith important in overcoming fear?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is essential because it affirms God's sovereignty over our fears.

Faith serves as the antidote to fear, acting as a means through which believers can confidently trust in God’s promises and provisions. In the sermon, it is highlighted that fear is the opposite of faith and cannot coexist with it. When believers are reminded of God's past faithfulness and His present help, their fears can be cast aside. For instance, Romans 8 encourages followers of Christ to embrace their identity as more than conquerors, reminding them that no external circumstances—be they peril or tribulation—can separate them from God’s love. Thus, faith propels us to navigate life’s challenges without succumbing to fear.
