Why is faith important in overcoming sin?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is essential as it connects us to Christ, who empowers us to overcome sin.

Faith plays a crucial role in the life of a believer when addressing the issue of sin. As described in Romans and Galatians, true saving faith is resting one's soul on Jesus Christ, believing in His promises for salvation and empowerment. It is through faith that believers appropriate the grace necessary to face sin; without faith, there can be no victory over the flesh. The strength of sin is the law, but grace reigns through righteousness by Jesus Christ. Thus, faith in Christ allows believers to reckon themselves dead to sin and to draw upon the grace that enables them to live a life that honors God.
