Why is faith important in receiving healing from Jesus?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is the means through which individuals receive healing from Jesus, as demonstrated by the persistent faith of the blind men and the woman with the flow of blood.

In the accounts of healing in the Gospel, faith plays a vital role in the healing process. For instance, Jesus asks the blind men if they believe He can heal them, recognizing the necessity of their faith for the miracle to take place (Matthew 9:28). Similarly, the woman who suffered from a continual flow of blood believed that merely touching His garment would restore her health, highlighting the biblical principle that faith in Jesus' ability to heal is paramount (Mark 5:28-29). Their faith did not just express acknowledgment of His power, but it also activated His healing touch, showing us that while God's power is sovereign, our faith is integral in experiencing that power.
