Why is faith important in the Christian walk?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is essential in the Christian walk as it empowers believers to trust in God's promises and to act in obedience.

Faith is the means by which we access the blessings of grace that God pours out upon us. In Exodus 14:13, Moses admonishes the Israelites to 'fear not and stand still' to see the salvation of the Lord, demonstrating that faith involves a firm belief in God's sovereignty during trials. This faith is not passive but active, as it compels believers to trust and move forward in obedience—fully believing that the Lord fights for them. Thus, our faith becomes the instrument through which God accomplishes His will in our lives.
