Why is faith important in times of sifting?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is crucial during sifting, as it is through faith that believers are preserved and strengthened to endure trials.

During periods of sifting, believers are confronted with their weaknesses and the temptations that arise from within and without. Jesus tells Peter in Luke 22:32, 'I have prayed for you, that your faith fail not.' This highlights the importance of faith as it is our lifeline to God amidst the trials. It's through faith that we can resist the allure of sin and the accusations of the devil. Furthermore, as Isaiah 41:10 reminds us, God commands us not to fear, for He is with us. Thus, a strong faith sustains us, guides us through the darkness, and is essential for resisting temptation during sifting.
