Why is faith important when approaching Christ for healing?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is crucial as it aligns our hearts with the belief that Christ alone has the power to heal and forgive.

The story of the paralyzed man in Luke 5 reveals that it was through the faith of his friends that Jesus considered their efforts and healed the man. In verse 20, we find that Jesus 'saw their faith' before granting the man forgiveness. This indicates that faith is more than mere belief; it is an act of trust and reliance on Christ's sovereign power. Faith allows us to recognize our understanding of our sinfulness and our need for a Savior. It is through this lens of faith that we can approach Christ, confident that He has the authority to heal both physically and spiritually, which leads to the ultimate restoration that every believer seeks.
