Why is faith in Christ considered a difficult process?

Answered in 1 source

Faith in Christ is deemed challenging as it requires a complete surrender and acknowledgment of one's sinfulness, a process only made possible by God's grace.

Faith in Christ is not simply a matter of acknowledging the existence of God or agreeing to a set of beliefs. As discussed in the sermon, true faith necessitates a recognition of the difficulty involved because of human depravity, the challenges posed by worldly temptations, and the commitment required to submit to Christ as Lord. The natural man's inclination is to resist this submission, thus requiring a divine act of regeneration. The complexity and challenge of believing in Christ lie in overcoming our innate rebellion and the spiritual bondage of sin, which can only be addressed through God's grace. Consequently, salvation is distinguished from mere religious declaration; it is a transformative experience brought about by the Holy Spirit.
