Why is faith in Christ essential?

Answered in 1 source

Faith in Christ is essential because He alone provides true life and sustenance for the believer.

Faith in Christ is critical as it connects the believer to the true source of life and hope. Jesus declares Himself as the bread of life, emphasizing that an ongoing relationship with Him is vital for spiritual nourishment (John 6:35). Without faith in Him, believers cannot experience the fullness of God's promises or the assurance of eternal life. Furthermore, as shown through Naomi and Ruth's story, this faith requires leaving behind all false hopes and trusting wholly in God's provision. The call to come to Christ denotes a transformation where believers forsake all that they have for the sake of knowing Him, receiving the fullness of grace offered (Philippians 3:8).
