Why is faith in Christ more important than the strength of faith?

The strength of one's faith often fluctuates, leading many to feel inadequate in their ability to trust. However, it is critical to understand that our confidence should not rest in the strength of our faith, but rather in Christ, who is the object of our faith. As noted in Matthew 17:19-20, even faith as small as a mustard seed can accomplish great things because of Christ's power. True assurance comes when believers recognize that God's grace and power can work mightily through even the faintest cries for help. Thus, the focus should always remain on Christ's sufficiency and greatness, rather than the perceived limitations of one's faith.
