Why is faith more important than feelings for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is essential for Christians as it aligns with God's truth, whereas feelings can often lead us astray.

Faith is the mechanism by which we accept and internalize God's promises and truths, which are objective and unchanging, in contrast to feelings that are subjective and fleeting. Romans 8 illustrates that the interplay between our spiritual nature and carnal inclinations often leads to conflict. The spiritual mind, grounded in faith, seeks to align itself with God's truth, while the carnal mind leads to enmity with God. Therefore, Christians are called to prioritize faith, allowing it to guide their perceptions and responses to life's challenges, thereby ensuring that they remain anchored in God's reality rather than the transient nature of emotions which can cause doubt and confusion.
