Why is following the example of Christ important?

Following the example of Christ is fundamental to the Christian faith. As followers of Jesus, we are called not only to believe in Him but also to live according to His teaching and example. Philippians 3:17 encourages believers to 'be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an example.' By emulating Christ's humility and service, we not only demonstrate our obedience to His command but also promote spiritual growth within ourselves and others.
