Why is gathering people to Christ important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Gathering people to Christ is vital as it fulfills the mission of the church to bring others under His rule and sovereignty (Matthew 12:30).

In Matthew 12:30, Jesus states, 'He that gathers not with me scatters.' This declaration highlights the importance of actively drawing others to Him. Christians are called to be instruments of God's grace, sharing the Gospel and living in a way that reflects Christ’s love and truth. The act of gathering not only fulfills the Great Commission but also signifies a positive witness to the world about the transformative power of Jesus. We are to live our lives as reflections of Christ, either attracting others to Him or, through indifference, leading them away.
