Why is glorifying God essential for Christians?

Answered in 3 sources

Glorifying God is essential because it acknowledges His sovereignty and grace in our salvation, keeping our focus on His work, not ours.

Glorifying God is the natural response of a heart that has truly experienced salvation. In the account of the healed leper in Luke 17, only one out of ten returned to thank Jesus, exemplifying that true gratitude and acknowledgment of God's mercy leads to glorification. Romans 15:6 tells us to glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, emphasizing that our lives should reflect His glory, especially in our salvation. When we recognize that salvation is solely a work of God, we cannot help but give Him credit for our transformation. This glorification serves as a witness to others about God's character and grace, compelling us to share the gospel message.
