Why is glorifying God important in preaching?

Answered in 2 sources

Glorifying God is the ultimate purpose of preaching, as all actions should be done for His glory (1 Corinthians 10:31).

The purpose of preaching extends beyond mere communication; it is fundamentally about glorifying God. As stated in Isaiah 42:8, God emphasizes that His glory will not be given to another. Preachers are called to declare the glory of God through the Gospel, revealing His love, mercy, and righteousness. In all that we do, including preaching, the primary motive must remain the glorification of God, not personal gain or recognition. The Apostle Paul affirms this in 1 Timothy 1:11, calling the Gospel 'the glorious Gospel of the blessed God.' Thus, preaching that glorifies God leads to a deeper understanding and appreciation of His divine character and purpose.
