Why is God described as the giver of life?

Answered in 1 source

God is the giver of life because He creates and sustains all existence and humanity relies entirely on Him for life and breath.

In Acts 17, Paul articulates that God 'gives to all life and breath and all things.' This assertion highlights His sovereignty and creative power as the sustainer of all life. He is portrayed not as a distant deity but as intimately involved with creation. Our very existence is dependent on Him; hence, He deserves worship not based on what we can offer, but in recognition of what He has provided. This understanding leads Christians to live in grateful acknowledgment that every aspect of life ultimately derives from God's grace and will.
