Why is God's authority important in our lives?

Answered in 1 source

God's authority is absolute and establishes the foundation upon which we live for His glory.

God's authority is unquestionable because He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. As our Lord, He has the right to demand our lives be lived in accordance with His Word. In Leviticus, we see that His law was given specifically to His covenant people, Israel, and thus it holds a unique authority in His house. He expects His people to live not according to the standards of the world but in obedience to His revealed truth, ensuring that our lives bring honor to His name. The reverence for God's authority is essential, as it guides our actions and interactions in a world that often denies absolute truth.
