Why is God’s call important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

God's call is essential as it is the means by which He brings His elect to salvation and sustains them in faith.

The call of God is crucial for Christians as it signifies the beginning of their relationship with Him. In John 10:27, Jesus assures us that 'My sheep hear My voice.' This call not only initiates salvation but is also the ongoing work of God in the lives of believers. It is through His continued calling that Christians are drawn to fellowship, repentance, and growth in faith. Just as the Israelites cried out for deliverance from Egypt, believers are called out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). God's call assures believers of His faithfulness to keep them, reinforcing that their salvation and sanctification are His divine work, ultimately leading to eternal security and glory.
