Why is God's love considered greater than human love?

Answered in 1 source

God's love is unconditional and everlasting, unlike human love which is often conditional.

God's love is fundamentally different from human love in that it is unconditional and everlasting. In 1 John 4:10, we see that God demonstrates love by sending His Son as the propitiation for our sins, doing so while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8). This divine love transcends human understanding and does not waver based on behavior or circumstances. Unlike human relationships, where love may falter or depend on reciprocity, God's affection for His people is intrinsic and unwavering. It is this steadfast love, which is without cause and not based on what we can achieve, that assures us of our identity and security in Him.
