Why is God's love for His people significant?

Answered in 2 sources

God's love signifies His choice and commitment to redeem and care for His people, regardless of their circumstances.

God's love is foundational to the assurance that all things work together for good. His love for His people is persistent and unchanging, as exemplified in His choice of Jacob and his descendants. Despite their frailty, God lovingly refers to them as 'worm Jacob' (Isaiah 41:14), highlighting their unworthiness yet His justifying love towards them. This reflects a profound truth of sovereign grace: that God's love is rooted in His own purpose and is not contingent on human merit. As He promises to uphold and strengthen His people, it reassures them that even their suffering has meaning and purpose, as it is a part of His redemptive plan for their lives.
