Why is God's sovereignty crucial in worship?

Answered in 1 source

God's sovereignty is crucial in worship because we can only truly worship one who is supreme and uncontrollable.

God’s sovereignty plays a vital role in worship, as true worship must be directed towards one who is totally sovereign and beyond manipulation. As noted in the sermon, if we can manipulate or control God, our worship is nullified. Worship involves recognizing God’s ultimate authority over all aspects of life and responding appropriately. When we accept God's sovereignty, we acknowledge our complete dependence on Him for salvation and life, realizing that our worship must emerge genuinely from a heart transformed by His grace.
