Why is God sending us back important?

Answered in 1 source

God's call to return signifies His grace and desire for sinners to find redemption.

In Psalm 90:3, we also find God inviting, 'Return, ye children of men.' This call to return is essential in Reformed theology as it reveals God's gracious purpose for humanity. Though we are turned to destruction by our own sin, God graciously commands us to return to Him. This reflects the underlying theme of salvation throughout Scripture, where God's desire is to bring His elect to repentance and faith in Christ. The importance lies in understanding that God's call is both an acknowledgment of our sinful condition and an avenue toward reconciliation and salvation through Jesus Christ, who provides us with repentance and the forgiveness of sins.
