Why is grace important in the context of giving?

Answered in 2 sources

Grace is foundational for giving, as it enables believers to understand their blessings and motivate them to share abundantly.

Grace plays a pivotal role in the life of a believer, especially regarding the act of giving. As noted in 2 Corinthians 8:1-3, the Macedonian churches exemplified this grace by giving beyond their means despite their poverty, attributing their generosity to the grace of God working in their hearts. Understanding grace fosters a spirit of thankfulness and recognition that everything we possess is a gift from God. This realization should propel us to give freely, recognizing that our material possessions are ultimately from God and meant to be shared with others. When believers acknowledge God's grace, it allows for an outpouring of generosity that can meet the needs of others and advance the gospel.
