Why is having a clean conscience important for Christians?

Having a clean conscience is essential for Christians because it enables them to serve God without hindrance. Hebrews 9:14 states that the blood of Christ cleanses our conscience so that we can serve the living God. A clear conscience allows believers to act in obedience and with joy, submitting to God's authority as they walk in faith.
