Why is having a High Priest important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

A High Priest is crucial as He intercedes for believers and provides access to God.

The role of the High Priest is fundamental within the Christian faith as it symbolizes the mediation between a holy God and sinful humanity. In the Old Testament, high priests offered sacrifices for the sins of the people, and Jesus Christ fulfills this role perfectly as He offers Himself as the ultimate sacrifice. This ensures that believers can approach God with the confidence that their sins are forgiven and they are accepted in Christ. Without a High Priest, the access to God would be hindered due to sin, but through Christ, we have unreserved access, comfort, and the hope of eternal redemption.
