Why is having a hope in Christ important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

A hope in Christ is vital for Christians, as it assures them of redemption, righteousness, and eternal life.

Having a hope in Christ is foundational for Christians because it provides assurance of their salvation and future glory. This hope encompasses redemption from sin, as described in Psalm 130, where believers are reminded that with the Lord there is mercy and plentiful redemption. Additionally, it assures believers of their righteousness before God, as they are clothed in the righteousness of Christ. Furthermore, this hope extends to the promise of eternal life, which God who cannot lie promised before the world began (Titus 1:2). Thus, a true hope in Christ allows Christians to face life’s challenges with confidence, knowing that their future is secured by His grace.
