Why is having a true foundation important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

A true foundation in Christ is vital for spiritual stability and salvation.

Jesus teaches in Matthew 7:24-27 about the necessity of building one's life on a solid foundation. A house built on the rock, representing His teachings, withstands trials and adversities, while one built on sand leads to destruction. For Christians, having a solid foundation means grounding one’s faith in the truth of Scripture and the person of Jesus Christ, which provides assurance and stability amid the challenges of life. Such a foundation ensures that our faith is resilient and anchored in the eternal truth of God's Word.
