Why is having Christ as our Shepherd important?

Answered in 1 source

Christ as our Shepherd is crucial because He protects, guides, and provides for our spiritual needs.

Having Christ as our Shepherd means we have a perfect guide who meets all of our needs, both physically and spiritually. As stated in Psalm 23, 'The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want,' which communicates that in Christ we lack nothing essential for our acceptance before God. The shepherd’s sacrifices ensure our safety and nourishment, allowing us to lie down in green pastures and leading us beside still waters. This relationship is foundational for believers, as it assures us of His presence and guidance through life's challenges.
