Why is having faith in Christ important for Christians?

Answered in 7 sources

Faith in Christ is essential for Christians as it is the means through which we receive salvation and establish our relationship with God.

Faith is not merely a passive belief but an active trust in Jesus Christ for salvation. The Apostle Paul makes this clear when he states that we are saved through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). Faith serves as the foundation upon which we construct our lives, shaping our thoughts, actions, and lifestyle in accordance with God's will. It is through faith that we access the grace necessary for sanctification and spiritual growth. Furthermore, Romans 10:17 tells us that 'faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.' Therefore, a vibrant faith rooted in Christ is crucial for a believer’s perseverance through life's trials and the assurance of eternal life.
