Why is having hope in a life to come important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Hope in a life to come motivates and sustains Christians through trials and helps them to live faithfully for Christ.

Hope in a life to come is essential as it shapes the believer's attitude and conduct in this present world. Paul points out in 1 Corinthians 15:19 that if our hope in Christ is limited to this life, we are to be pitied more than anyone else. True hope transcends the challenges and sufferings of our current existence, enabling us to endure hardships for the sake of the Gospel. This hope assures us that our present afflictions are temporary and that eternal joy awaits us, which transforms our view of suffering and encourages us to persevere. A good hope leads to a life marked by faithfulness and a desire for holiness, as we anticipate the promises of God.
