Why is having our eyes opened important for Christians?

The act of having one's eyes opened represents enlightenment and revelation, essential for understanding God's truth. Elisha prayed for his servant to see the reality of God's protection, and this spiritual sight brought peace where there was fear (2 Kings 6:17). Similarly, in Ephesians 1:18, Paul prays that the eyes of believers' hearts may be enlightened to grasp the hope of their calling and the riches of God's glory.
