Why is having works important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Works demonstrate the authenticity of faith, as true faith inevitably produces good works.

The Bible differentiates between dead faith and living faith; the latter is evidenced by works. In James 2:26, it is stated, 'faith without works is dead.' For Christians, works serve as a true reflection of their faith, indicating that their belief is genuine and has resulted in transformation. Ephesians 2:10 emphasizes that believers are God's workmanship, created in Christ for good works that He has prepared for them. Thus, works are not the means of salvation but are the fruit that naturally flows from a believer's faith in Christ.
