Why is holding on to Christ important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Holding onto Christ is crucial as He is the source of our salvation and the one who sustains our faith.

In the Christian faith, holding onto Christ means relying entirely on Him for salvation and the power to persevere. Paul emphasizes this in 1 Timothy, encouraging Timothy to 'hold on to Christ for dear life.' This reflects the reality that while we are kept by Christ's power, we must actively cling to Him in faith. Our assurance comes not from our faith alone, but from the faithfulness of Christ. Just as a child instinctively holds onto a parent for safety, believers too are urged to embrace Christ actively as their source of strength and hope in a world filled with trials and spiritual warfare.
