Why is holiness important for Christians in worship?

Answered in 1 source

Holiness is essential as it reflects God's character and the requirement for acceptable worship.

Holiness stands at the center of God's character and, therefore, must define Christian worship. The sermon emphasizes that to worship a holy God, we must be holy ourselves, as preached in 1 Peter 1:16, 'Be holy, for I am holy.' Our worship cannot be acceptable unless it aligns with the holiness of God. Practicing true worship involves understanding our sinful nature and relying on Christ's righteousness. Philippians 3:3 describes true worshippers as those who worship by the Spirit of God, underscoring the need for divine assistance in achieving holiness. Only through Jesus, the Lamb who was slain, can we enter into God's presence acceptably.
